Dr. Silver is board-certified in Family Medicine and brings to the group, 20 years of Solo practice experience in treating the entire family from pediatrics to geriatric medicine.

Dr. Silver received his Undergraduate degree from San Diego State University in Microbiology. He then obtained his 4 year Doctoral Degree from College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona California. Dr. Silver then pursued his 3 year Post Doctorate Specialty training in Family Medicine at the University of North Dakota school of Medicine in Fargo N.D. After completing all his formal training, Dr. Silver moved to Northern California in Redding to practice the full spectrum of his training of Family Medicine for approximately 15 years before making his final move to the Central Coast of San Luis Obispo.

Dr. Silver has extended his scope of practice to include challenges of Urgent Care and Occupational Health Care Medicine as well. He is eager share his vast experience and knowledge in improving and maintaining your family health care needs.

Appointment time was changed to an earlier time without my knowing it. I couldn't come at that time. I was told that Dr. Silver was all booked up for quite a long time. I was given an early appointment ( 8 AM) that day so I went.

The care provided was good, but I feel that for Medicare patients the time allotted is brief and limited to a prescribed set of questions which makes the visit seem impersonal. Other than that, Dr. Silver is an excellent doctor.

A day after my routine appointment, I tried to call the office 3 times in mid-morning, to clarify a phone message I had received. I was put on "automated" hold (no actual person on the other end) for a total of 25 minutes, and never got to speak with anyone about my question. I finally gave up trying, and drove down to Dr. Silver's office to talk with a receptionist. She was able to answer my question, but in general it was very disappointing, inconsiderate, and unprofessional.

My lab orders were not sent in advance, so I ended up going to the labs for test twice; and even then, the second time, not all the right tests were ordered, due to confusion over whether this was a physical or a specific check on two items; this latter failure seemed to happen because of the extra "link" in communication, ie, an answering service.

Seems like one gets an answering service during regular business hours rather than the office directly; this is off-putting, and also creates more opportunity for error - as in the old game of "telephone"

Dr. Silver seemed a bit terse with me in his reactions and recommendations during this visit. I believe that putting a doctor (though substituting my P. A.) under these limitations of time makes for considerably less likelihood that all health concerns of a patient can be evaluated or all referrals made with said time constraints. These impact on the physician's patience with the human being sitting before him in need of his diagnosis. I was put off by the evident intention of the doctor to be done with this visit so that he might move on to the next patient. This is partly why I failed to let him know that I have been experiencing little "trails" and "fogging" in my right eye. I would appreciate a referral to a reputable optometrist either in SLO or in Templeton or Paso Robles since mine has retired in the past year.

Dr. Silver was curt and has little to no bedside manner. He seemed annoyed to be there and was dismissive of my concerns. It felt like he was more interested in making me feel bad about my concerns than anything else. His advice seemed antiquated and brusque. I will be finding another doctor.

This doctor didn't know why I came in. He told me to increase my dose when I was looking for a different medication. He told me when you get older 3-4 hours asleep maybe enough. I completely disagree as does all my other healthcare providers. When I said this could have been discussed over the phone he told me Covid was over we don't do that anymore. Highly dissatisfied.

I am concerned about my privacy and your form asked for a lot of information such as my driver's license. I don't feel comfortable leaving my personal information on an application database that can be. compromised or hacked. As much as i know you have to secure your computing systems, i am worried that a compromise to my information could be catastrophic financially.

the online registration process was frustrating via my mobile device. i pressed a wrong button several times and i had to reenter my credentials each time. using my thumbs on the phone is less than ideal, so i am thinking that the mobile form needs to be looked at for spacing etc ...i kept pressing some button that hurdled me out of the app.

Went over my labs. He wants to chase my high Trigliserides. But I agree that losing weight and temper my drinking, he won't have too. Liver labs were good, HGB a1c was okay. No blood in urine.

The online reg process seemed redundant as I give the same info each year and should only be updating what you already have on record. I tried to update the medications I take and had a hard time entering a new med (no back button). Also the nurse evidently did not see my changes and asked about a med I had deleted from the list. so why bother?

A urine sample was processed and I was told I had a mild uti and prescribed cipro. A few days later I was told I did not have a uti but to finish taking cipro. Staff took my vital signs and my contact with Dr Silver was brief but I have no complaints--he is a busy man.

My first appointment was Dec 3. I don't know why I had to wait 2 and 1/2 months to have the lab work done. This appointment was to go over my lab work. He explained each test result and said I was metabolically fine.

no follow up testing after being diagnosed with Lyme and put on Doxicycline. Lm Mix up in Lab orders. I told the Dr I was getting over a Gout Attack in my big toe and I could bust barely get my shoe on. He laughed. When scheduling new labs i had to ask for Uric acid test. He said he could include it. He always seems rushed and not interested in me or what I'm telling him.

recommend that when blood work is ordered that I leave office with a written lab order to take to the lab, or a direct phone number to lab to verify order has been sent.when I arrived at lab, there was no order.checking notes online from visit staff overlooked calling in lab order and it is not in visit notes. Erin was very responsive when I called from the lab and contacted nurse to have order for blood work faxed over.

With the pandemic it's a little strange. I have seen Dr. Silver at least three times for my osteoarthritis. He has totally socially distanced me. He has neither examined my knee nor come within six feet of me. I offered to do a virtual visit when I called for the appointment, but was told I needed to come in. No problem for me, but it really could have been virtual or a phone call. This is NOT a complaint. I realize we are in strange times.

This was a follow up visit for an injury that is not healing. The doctor made me feel like I was making things up and was very reluctant to suggest next steps. Out of the two visits I've had with my provider for this injury, he has never once examined the complaint area. Vitals are taken by the nurse but that was it. Rather ordered an X-ray and physical therapy. I did not get a chance to speak with him about a referral to an orthopedic doctor and who this may be as he appeared frustrated with my rerun visit and left the room after only 5 minutes.

total of 2 minutes read lab results, handed me my copy asked if I'd had the flu shot, and asked if I had any questions as he was exiting the room with my folder in his hands.. later in the day , he refused to order a refill on a drug he had ordered 3 times & told me to get it over the counter . Front desk staff setting next appointment could not tell me where to get testes for Covid-19. I asked, "where can I get tested for Covid". Her response "I don't know, maybe Health Dept". Shouldn't someone working in a Doctor's office know this information during this crises?

a minor concern... this is the third time that I have scheduled my annual physical a year in advance and the Dr office rescheduled shortly before the date. luckily I was available for another date within the same week

My experience was mixed, as stated earlier. Over the phone, mediocre. In person? Much better. It almost seemed like communicating with 2 different companies based on the experience so I'm not sure if this is universally part of the company or if it's just my location. I have no knowledge of the call center's operation but I hope their receptionists can receive better training on communicating with patients in a more helpful and friendly way.

To my knowledge, everyone followed HIPPA procedure and proper infection control. Gloves were used when needed but I wasn't able to see handwashing from inside my patient room but I'm sure that happened. Seeing the ID on the workers wasn't always the easiest to be seen so there's that

Dr. Silver seemed knowledgeable, sincere and approachable with his demeanor and ability to explain things. I appreciated him being able to give me a rundown of my concerns and ask probing questions about my current condition in detail instead of just taking yes or no as the only answer. Even in the short session I had with him, which was already nice on his part to squeeze me into his schedule, it felt thorough in what we covered and discussed. I'd see him again and refer him too

The bad: At times, the call center receptionists were either rude, impatient, and/or unable to help give more in-depth answers to questions about the appointment. Sometimes they would hang up before I can ask all my questions or whomever they said was going to call, never did. I talked to maybe 6 different receptionists and felt helpless in trying to get a straight answer from anyone. it took me until going into the FCPP Family Office (on Casa) in person to finally be able to get things settled for an appointment that would fit my timeline and scheduling needs. Was it a last minute squeeze in for the doctor? yes, but he and the office's receptionist made it work. the ones on the call center? it seemed like they wanted to get rid of me as soon as I got on the line. The good: like I said, in person, I was treated well, by both reception, the doctor, and other medical staff. Dr Silver was professional, direct and personable; the medical assistant was nice, even if she was nervous. If anything, at times, possibly due to miscommunication on my past, but it felt like the receptionists had a scripted response to whatever I was going to ask. Continuing to ask though eventually did help get me the answer I was looking for so it took persistence but they were helpful for the most part. Also, as previously stated, I could've explained something wrongly or inaccurately. Overall, I'd say if the calling experience matched the in-person, things would be a lot smoother as a patient. Perfect? No, but it'd be more reassuring and helpful to know have all areas of the medical office be on the same page, in trying to help the patients that their physicians and practitioners will eventually see. There was definitely a disconnect there and it makes me hesitant and wary about how to proceed if I didn't have the option to drive to the office in-person to schedule something. I hope that can be fixed, as luckily, my situation wasn't urgent but it was still a hassle nonetheless.

I called the day before to make sure I knew how to set virtual visit and there was a miscommunication and when the day came we couldn't get set up, couldn't hear and the MD couldn't hear me.. then time to review labs, labs were all not done and ordered, only a few was done, that I thought it was going to be done that we discussed 6 months ago and waited 6 months to find out, so not all labs were discussed, the visit took about 5 minutes I felt nothing was accomplished, so next visit I will ha e to come in to office, I feel that is better for me

virtual visit is not good for me, I rather go in the office, labs didn't get really explained, now I have to schedule another visit. didn't get any thing answered,

it was not a good experience, it was a short appt, couldn't hear each other , the labs that I needed to be done was not even ordered , and it took 2 hours to get my labs done.
